Each unit is a complete imaging department: a lead-shielded scan room with hydraulic slide-outs, a separate control room, patient access by stairs or lift, and its own climate control and IT connections. An on-board power module maintains the internal climate during transport, keeping the scanner within its operating conditions. The body uses Lamboo’s patented sandwich panel construction.

Integrated lead shielding engineered for maximum radiation protection

A CT unit requires radiation shielding, and the required values are both OEM- and region-dependent. Lamboo engineers the lead shielding to the scanner manufacturer's specification and to the radiation regulations of the country where the unit will operate. Shielding is integrated into the walls, floor, roof and doors during construction, including the lead-glass observation window. Every project receives a shielding drawing that is signed off with the customer before production starts.

Certified OEM compatibility across leading CT platforms

Lamboo is OEM-neutral: each unit is engineered around the CT scanner you choose, and Lamboo is certified by all major OEMs. The design is developed together with the manufacturer of that specific system and covers the scanner floor frame, cabinet positions, cable routing, cooling capacity and the transport locks the gantry requires. Because the interface is engineered rather than adapted, the OEM installs, commissions and services the system on the same terms as a fixed installation.

Transport and road compliance

Most Lamboo units are built to standard trailer dimensions, so they can be moved on public roads without special transport permits. Where a destination applies different rules, the unit is engineered to the road-compliance standard of that country or state, agreed with the customer before production. This covers axle configuration and load distribution, lighting, coupling height and the certification a heavy vehicle needs to be registered locally, including support with type approval.

Dedicated lifetime maintenance and system refurbishment programs

Lamboo supports every unit for its full life. Units are engineered for a 15-year service life, extendable by a further 15 years through refurbishment under a Lamboo service agreement, giving a horizon of up to 30 years. Agreements are tailored per fleet and can cover planned maintenance, technical support and response times. A refurbishment can also prepare an existing unit for a newer scanner, which is faster and more sustainable than replacing the whole accommodation.
